  One possible explanation:

  (John 2:19) "All right," Jesus replied. "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." (NLT)

  (Ephesians 2:21) "...in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.."

  Jesus had spent the previous three years establishing a spiritual arrangement concerning the New Covenant which he was about to validate with his death. When he died, (the cornerstone - Eph. 2:21) his followers (the "temple") were distraught and dispersed, but on his resurrection, Jesus had them regroup with an even stronger zeal than before. Hence his reason for saying that he would "raise it up" (Gr.egeirō - "to cause to appear, bring before the public")

  i was a member of this community a long time ago and have lurked for years.

  well, i am back and still thoroughly conflicted, with my heart/loyalties as divided as ever.

  please welcome me back, hear me out, and make me feel as welcomed as before.. the wtbts has changed so very much in recent years that i feel trapped in a completely different religion altogether.

  the corporation is now giving many of you what you agreed to - a life of real poverty!.

  your poverty outside of bethel is a wee bit different from the poverty in "satan's world" - where you've just been thrown to fend for yourselves.

  Dam it, I missed it!

  i missed the jw, history making, all new mid week meeting!

  and i am just so torn up over it, i've had a few drinks to drown my deep sorrow in, missing such a once in a lifetime event!.

  oh how can i ever get over, such a lost opportunity like that, just don't know if i'll never get over it!.

  I predicted a lottery number from a pattern, is the lottery NOT random or is random held to a universal force?

  i've studied and observed several lottery patterns.

  this one is now gone so nothing lost by revealing it.

  i had a certain history search and noticed that almost each week the past few months a list of numbers not used recently were being used 1 per week.

  God's Holy Spirit - Contradiction?

  here's the backstory: a jw posted a thread in /r/debatereligion basically allowing the community to ask him anything.

  things got realer than he expected, i think.

  someone brought up the failed predictions and asked if they would qualify as false prophecy(1 john 4:1).

  Welcome sincerelymine - I hope your lurking strengthens your resolve to continue on your learning curve and prove to yourself exactly what the WTBTS Corporation is really all about - money, not Bible truths.

  Most J.W.'s describe the G.B. & their cohorts as " just imperfect men." My own mother used to parrot this.

  Yes, imperfect men who portray themselves - falsely - as having a direct line to the C.E.O., whereas everyone else can only be helped via the call-centre!

  a few minutes ago...my door intercom went...i picked up the phone...wasn't expecting anyone.. young child's voice... "were just here with this watchtower why be honest".

  no thanks...byee.. what sort of message is this sending out ?

  we've all been trying to decipher what is going on at the top of the watchtower organization.

  clearly, the game's afoot, we just don't know what game we're playing.

  item: the constant harping about money and donations.

  Fisherman stated a profound truth -

  "Changing the music and the meetings also changes the experience of worship one felt and related to."

  Millions of longer-term J.W.'s cannot rationalize in their minds the dramatic Corporation changes, or totally believe that they should "listen obey, & be blessed" by a bunch of self-publicising & sanctimonious religious hierarchy who are preparing to move out to their idyllic new country residence.

  The 21st century "Society" is alien - and is alienating - very many previously loyal sheep. Carry on G.B.

  Do the Governing body really have the power some think they do?

  i mentioned this in a previous post, i feel the current gb truly believe they are chosen by god and are indoctrinated just as much as the rank and file.

  they are deluded in their belief that they are guardians of the doctrine.

  they are suffering from cognitive dissonance just as much.

  The Magnificent 7 are merely the front-men for the Corporation - and ultimately the fall-guys.

  As Mr. Jackson so eloquently displayed with his robotic & scripted responses at the A.R.C., they are puppets for the real masters in this consortium of worldwide businesses.

  Samuel Herd is the only one I've seen whose delivery and facial expressions reveal that he's wide awake to the corruption and lies which are overwhelming the sheep - but he won't want him and his wife ending up in the wilderness like Ray Franz.
